Japanese Prime Minister, Fumio Kishida announced a new plan for a free and open Indo-Pacific and deepen Tokyo’s relationship with New Delhi. The statements came as Fumio Kishida met India's Prime Minsiter Narendra Modi.
Japan’s Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said that Japanas chair of G7 and India chairing G20 this year hoped to discuss fully what roles japan and India should play in the international community while deepening their bilateral strategic partnership.
kishida is expected to show Japan’s commitment to deepen G7 involvement with the global south communities and possibly ask India to play a leading role to represent voices of the global south while Japan serves as a bridge between them.
